
Psychosis REACH – May 21st and 22nd, 2021
Training Overview
Psychosis REACH is a free training that offers concrete, evidence-based skills for relatives and friends of individuals with psychotic disorders to better care for and relate to their loved ones. It takes a proven psychotherapy for people with schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and modifies it to the needs of caregivers. Participants will learn:
- Normalizing and making sense of psychosis
- Evidence-based coping strategies
- Key caring principles
- Communication practices
- Working with medication
- Relapse prevention strategies
Training Details and Registration
The upcoming Psychosis REACH training will take place virtually and will consist of pre-recorded and live videos. Trainees will first watch a series of pre-recorded videos at their own pace. This will be followed by a one-day live component, consisting of Q&A and demonstrations/role plays of the skills taught in these videos by CBTp experts and trainers.
Trainees will have the option of attending this live component on either May 21st (2:00pm – 5:00pm PT) or May 22nd (9:00am – 12:00pm PT). Spanish translation will only be available on May 22nd.
