Launch of Clinical Support System for Serious Mental Illness Initiative

Nov 14, 2018

In July 2018, APA was awarded a $14.2 million grant from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to support the Clinical Support System for Serious Mental Illness (CSS-SMI) initiative. The initiative supports implementation of evidence-based, person-centered pharmacological and psychosocial interventions for people with SMI and increase access to care. The initiative is launching an online portal (in late 2018) and app (in 2019) to provide consultation and learning opportunities to mental health providers. The CSS-SMI initiative will develop resources for providers and tools for patients and families, including webinars, fact sheets, implementation guides, practice guidelines, and self-management tools.
