Our ACT Training Team

The SPIRIT Lab’s Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) training program, under the direction of Maria Monroe-DeVita, PhD, hosts a team of mental health professionals able to provide expert training and consultation in various evidence-based practices within ACT. These trainings are available at the asking, free of charge for ACT teams in Washington state, though out of state teams are welcome to reach out with questions about training availability.

TRAINING TEAM & TOPICS:

  • Michelle McDonald-Lopez, LMHCMichelle is a licensed mental health counselor with years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, including in inpatient and outpatient settings, in jail, and as a team leader for a WA ACT team. Michelle provides training on the following for the SPIRIT lab:
    • Quarterly training for new ACT team members (and, as needed, personalized training for entire new ACT teams)
    • Coordinates the network of ACT team leaders in the state of Washington
    • Mindfulness-based interventions for adults with serious mental illness
  • Jonathan R. Beard, LICSWJonathan is a licensed clinical social worker with years of experience providing direct services and managing clinicians in community mental health settings serving individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, as well as a reviewer of supported employment and education programs in the state. He provides training in the following areas:
    • ACT Comprehensive Assessment
    • Supported Employment and Education
    • Psychiatric Rehabilitation
    • Clinician Supervision
  • Jeffery Roskelley, LICSWJeff is a licensed clinical social worker with years of experience providing psychotherapy and co-occurring disorders treatment in a variety of settings, including on an ACT team. He provides training in the following areas:
    • ACT Comprehensive Assessment
    • Integrated Duel Disorders Treatment (IDDT) for clients struggling with serious mental illness and substance use
    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis, or CBTp (click here to learn more about the SPIRIT lab’s CBTp program)
  • Kyle Payne Kyle holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with years of experience providing direct services in community mental health settings serving individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, as well as implementing evidence-based practices of supported employment and education and in multiple domains. He provides training in the following areas:
    • ACT Comprehensive Assessment
    • Supported Employment and Education
    • Psychiatric Rehabilitation
    • Clinician Supervision
  • Andre Stickney Andre holds a masters degree in counseling and has over a decade of experience providing direct services in community mental health settings serving individuals with serious mental illness. His experience includes being a team lead on a WA ACT and New Journeys FEP team as well mobile crisis and co-responder with Clark County Police Department. He provides training and consultation on the following for SPIRIT lab:
    • ACT Comprehensive Assessment
    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis or CBTp
    • E-IMR
    • Family Education and Support
